Wide Bay Kids is collecting your personal information for the purposes as outlined on this site. This information will only be accessed by authorised Wide Bay Kids officers and will be handled in accordance with Wide Bay Kids Privacy Statement governed by the Information Privacy Act 2009. Wide Bay Kids is dedicated to being welcoming, accessible and inclusive. With advance notice we can accommodate individual needs, including mobility requirements. We encourage participants to call 0427 523 289 to secure an accessible place.
If a workshop fails to go ahead or has major changes, you may seek a refund from Wide Bay Kids. If you are not able to attend due to change of mind or sickness please contact us immediately. You may change, transfer or delay your purchase, in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Wide Bay Kids implements a risk assessment and COVID safe plan for all workshop activities. If you or the attendee have any allergies - please notify us upon booking. If you are or the attendee are sick please do not attend.
Wide Bay Kids uses safe and fair ticketing practice, and applies with federal and state governments regulations to protect all consumers.
Risk Assessment:
Identify and Assess Risks
When identifying and assessing the potential risks consideration is given to:
- participants’ physical and mental wellbeing.
- the environment in which the workshop activities takes place i.e. community venue/hall/shopping centre/public park
- nature of the risk e.g. safety
- cause of the risk e.g. allergic reaction, slip/fall etc
- COVID-19 Safe Plan
- consequence of an adverse incident e.g. injury to a participant
Preventative Actions:
Wide Bay Kids Community Inc takes all reasonable steps within their control to minimise the likelihood of injury to a participant and any other persons whilst participating in the event/activity. Preventative actions that may be identified could include providing:
- equipment cleaned regularly in line with COVID-19 guidelines following this Queensland Government directive.
- equipment suitable for use by children.

Theft of personal belongings | Personal belongings may be stolen if not kept secure | Participants and staff are responsible for keeping their personal belongings safe and secure during activities. |
Injury from using equipment or participation in activities, games etc | Injury from objects falling | All storage areas are inaccessible to children during the activity session. |
Sun Exposure | Sunburn, dehydration | Participants are encouraged to take sun protective measures by staff (eg suggest wearing a hat, applying sunscreen and drinking water). |
Fire at Venue | Fire | There is a fire and emergency evacuation plan and it is known to staff. |
Burns | Hot beverages and | Participants will be asked by staff to only consume hot beverages away from the children’s activities. |
Venue | Dangerous areas may cause injury by slips, falls etc | Staff will check the immediate area where the activities are located and make the following adjustments: |
Hygiene | Food preparation | Effective hygiene methods used e.g. washing of hands and toileting. |
COVID-19 | Transmission | In line with COVID safe plan and checklist. No people with symptoms - participants or volunteers. |
Car Parking Area | Hit by a car | Events run in or nearby a car parking area must have an area cordoned off and used as the activities area. |
