The experienced audiologist at Astrid Clancy Audiologist provides bulk-billed hearing assessments in Bundaberg for adults and children over 3 years of age who may need their hearing checked. Based at Millbank Medical Practice, assessment results are sent to the individual’s own doctor. No referral is needed.
Central Auditory Processing assessment using the Listening in Spatialized Noise– Sentences (LiSN-S) test to assess a person’s ability to separate important speech from all other noises is available for children 6 years and older. These appointments are charged at a set fee. Rebates may be available through your private health fund.
Custom made hearing protectors, swim plugs musician’s earplugs, sleep plugs and in-ear monitors are available through Astrid Clancy Audiologist. Astrid also offers a range of digital hearing aids with the latest technology to suit the communication needs of private patients.
Tinnitus consultation and management is offered, as well as communication tactics and advice to assist with hearing in difficult situations. Appointments for tinnitus management and communication tactics can be covered under Medicare with a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) care plan from your doctor.
Astrid Clancy obtained a Master of Clinical Audiology from the University of Queensland in 1999, is a registered Medicare provider, and has a current Certificate of Clinical Practice with Audiology Australia.
Astrid is committed to promoting audiology education, has experience working with adults and children particularly assisting people optimise communication by using different tactics and strategies, she had many years fitting hearing aids and other devices to assist with hearing difficulties and has seen a huge improvement in the technology and options available. Astrid has three children and has seen how hearing and listening can impact on education increasing her interest and understanding of auditory processing.
