Train lovers of all ages are invited to the Bundaberg Model Railway Club Open Day on Saturday 12th April 2025. With free admission, this community-friendly event promises a day of fun and fascination for the whole family.
From 9am to 3pm, visitors can explore the club’s detailed HO and N scale layouts inside the clubrooms at the old Bundaberg Showgrounds. Entry is via the Kensington Street entrance—just 50 metres from Walker Street. On-site parking will be available.

The day will feature five club layouts and two intricate small-scale private layouts in action, with club members on hand to answer questions and share insights about the hobby. The new N scale DCC layout under construction will also be on display, and visitors are welcome to chat with members about the club’s plans for future development.
Children as young as two or three years old often enjoy the magic of model railways, and this Open Day is a great opportunity for parents, grandparents, and railway enthusiasts to come together and enjoy the hobby.
A sausage sizzle and cold drinks will be available for purchase, so plan to stay a while and soak in the detail, creativity, and community spirit that makes model railroading such a beloved pastime.
Everyone is welcome—from bubs to grandies! Come along and see the trains in action and learn more about becoming a club member.
