Elliott Heads Park upgrade completed
Yipeee the Elliott Heads Park upgrade has been completed as part of the continued implementation by Bundaberg Regional Council of the Elliott Heads Foreshore Masterplan. We will try and make it there this weekend and let you know what we think.
Council’s Environment and Natural Resources spokesman Cr Bill Trevor said $75,000 had been invested in the upgrade which involved the construction of a multi-unit playground and adjacent shelter shed.
He said the work had been undertaken at the Elliott Heads Foreshore parkland.
“The area has been turfed and the facilities will add to visitor and family utilisation of the area,” said Cr Trevor.
Divisional representative Cr Scott Rowleson said the development of facilities in Council’s parks was essential to the enjoyment of the amenity of the area.
“Council endeavours to ensure all park areas across the region are appropriately serviced by facilities that not only add to recreational opportunities for locals but also act as an attraction for visitors.
“Elliott Heads has an ever-expanding reputation as a desirable destination and investment in facilities in this area ensures visitor expectations are met.”
Cr Rowleson said the play equipment had been purchased from local suppliers Willplay which provided an economic benefit to local business.
