INPP Parent and Educator Workshops

INPP Parent and Educator Workshops
What do movement milestones and learning difficulties have in common?
We are so excited to announce that Dr Christine Payard, the Australia Director of the Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology (INPP) is coming to Bundaberg on the 3rd June to provide practical hands-on workshops for Parents and Educators.
Her presentations will delve into the world of children with learning difficulties and provide specific tools that can address their underlying challenges. If you have a child or work with children who experience challenges with learning, these free workshops are a must!
Parent and Educator Evening Workshop
This workshop is for parents and educators who know children struggling at school who:
- find it difficult to sit still
- have trouble reading and/or writing
- struggle with visual and/or auditory processes
- lack co-ordination or balance
- have unreasonable emotional outbursts
Christine will explain how many of these struggles are viewed as behavioural issues requiring behavioural management when in fact they can be due to a child’s underdevelopment of movement patterns. These behaviours can be symptoms of:
- development of poor posture
- the inability to be able to sit still
- the inability to concentrate and be easily distracted
- the inability to control impulsivity
- the inability to read and react appropriately to the body language of others
Dr Payard will share the latest research in understanding how children learn and the importance of them achieving each of these milestones. Dr Payard believes movement is the foundation for all learning.
When: Friday 3rd June
Where: St John Lutheran Primary School, 24 George Street, Bundaberg
Time: 6pm to 7:30pm
Cost: Free
Registration: contact Angela on 0427 189 444 or via email
