Happy Hearts are handmade heart shaped fabric 'gifts', with a simple purpose of spreading joy. Joy to those who make them, those who gift them and those who receive them.
Please join us to help make 250 hearts which will be circulated across the Bundaberg region during Children's Week to help spread joy and happiness. Drop in any time between 1pm and 4pm, make one heart or many. Bookings are essential. Register now to attend.
Celebrate Children's Week 2022 - Make Happy Hearts
Children’s Week is an annual event celebrated in Australia. A diverse range of events and activities are organised at National, State and Local levels to celebrate the rights of children to enjoy childhood and for the wider community to rejoice in their talents, skills and abilities.
In 2022, the theme for Children's Week is based on UNCRC Article 27... All Children have the right to a standard of living that supports their wellbeing and healthy development.
Learn more about Children's week and the theme here.
On Saturday, 15 October we want you to join us to make Happy Hearts! You're invited to help us make 250 hearts which will be hidden across the Bundaberg region for everyone to enjoy.
What are Happy Hearts?
Happy Hearts of Bundaberg (sewing hearts and leaving them in random places for people to find) was inspired by a simple act of kindness that started in Nevada, USA.
I Found A Quilted Heart began in 2014 "A beautiful little heart started a whole new purpose; blessing others with the same simple act of kindness".
There are no rules with making, giving, gifting or receiving hearts. You can do what you wish with them. The idea is that they give joy and happiness to those that make them, receive or find them. You can keep or you can pass on, or even re-hide.
If you would like more information about creating, receiving or donating material to Happy Hearts of Bundaberg join the facebook group Happy Hearts of Bundaberg here.
