Hervey Bay Whale Festival 2025

Hervey Bay Whale Festival 2025
The Hervey Bay Whale Festival is returning in 2025 to celebrate the region’s incredible connection to the annual humpback whale migration. The festival will take place across four dates, 11 July and 7, 9 and 10 August and includes a variety of free and ticketed events for all ages.
🗓️ 11 July and 7, 9 & 10 August 2025
📍Hervey Bay, Queensland
💰 Free & ticketed events across multiple days
Each year, between July and October, thousands of humpback whales arrive in the calm, protected waters of Hervey Bay. Unlike anywhere else along the ‘humpback highway’, these whales pause their journey, spending several days resting and playing - creating some of the best up-close whale-watching experiences in the world.
The Hervey Bay Whale Festival brings the community together to recognise this unique natural phenomenon and to promote the importance of marine conservation. Festival highlights often include the Parade of Lights, live music, markets, educational activities, and ocean-themed entertainment the whole family can enjoy.
Details for the 2025 program are still being finalised.
