How to make Slime at Home with the kids
Who doesn’t like Slime?! Keep reading to learn exactly how to make slime at home with your kids.
Every time we make Slime at Playgroup it is such a hit, the kids get so much enjoyment out it and it is so easy to make!
What you need:
- Borax
- White Glue
- Cold water
- Food colouring
- 2 x mixing bowls
What you do:
- In bowl 1, mix 1/2 cup white glue with 1/2 cup water. Add food colouring.
- In bowl 2, combine 1 cup water and 1/2 tsp (or less) Borax.
- Slowly pour the glue mixture into the borax mixture, stirring. Use your hands to combine and kneed until ‘dry’.
- The amount of borax will determine how runny the slime is. The more borax you add the more firm the slime will be.
- Store in air tight container and refrigerate.
The kids at playgroup have found all sorts of different uses for Slime from blankets for dolls to sloppy loads in dump trucks! Slime can be used to facilitate many learning opportunities such as sensory exposure, hand eye co-ordination, language development, and general creativity.
