Make your own Easter Bunny

This is such a fun and simply activity to play with your Wide Bay Kids during the Easter School Holidays. We enjoyed making these and thought we would show you how to make your own Easter Bunny at home. You can usually find all the supplies in a draw somewhere at home, it isn’t messy and the kids will stay occupied for 30 minutes to an 1 hour with this one. Here is what we did to make ours.

What you need:

Cotton balls
Foam (polystyrene) egg (you’ll find these in Kmart and Spotlight)
White pipe cleaner
Thicker pink pipe cleaner
Plastic eyes
Small pink pom-pom
Thin wire
Wire cutters
Cardboard
Scissors
Glue
Fabric or lace

What you do:

Glue cotton balls on a foam egg for tail and feet
.Bend white pipe cleaner around a thicker pink pipe cleaner for the ears.
Stick a pair at the top of the egg.
Add wiggle eyes, a small pink pom-pom nose and thin wire whiskers.
Place on a cardboard circle with a hole cut out for base of egg to rest on.
The cardboard can be covered with fabric or lace.

Tips: Tacky Glue is better for crafts than hot glue, kids can easily get hurt using hot glue; it’s thicker and tackier than white craft glue and dries quickly. Only put about 1/3 of a cotton ball for each of the legs on the bunny and cut the bottom off of the egg so it will sit up straight.

This is a great quick and easy craft to make. It was perfect for the littlies at our Playgroup.
