Meadowvale Nature Park
Meadowvale Nature Park
Meadowvale Nature Park is only 10 minutes from the Bundaberg City Centre out along Rosedale Road. This natural bushland is a great place to take kids for a short bush walk.
Tracks
There are two tracks within the park. A 1 km track and a 1.7 km track. The first thing I thought of when we entered this place was how great it would be for kids on bikes. The tracks are nice and wide and the sandy soil would make for some fun adventures. I can just imagine my kids racing through the bushland on their bikes.
Both walking tracks lead to different parts of Splitters Creek. We did not explore the creek itself as it was quite brown and I just have this thing about not getting into water where I can’t see the bottom!! It was clear though that people obviously come here and swim. There were a couple of rope swings but I could not tell you how deep the water was. Apparently platypus live in the creek but we did not see any.
The tracks are great for prams with pump up tyres but due to the sandy soil scooters are definitely out.
Picnic Area
There is a lush picnic area at the entrance of the park with a few tables. There are also plenty of large shaded trees to rest under after your walk. Toilet facilities are also available.
What’s there
2 short walks 1km and 1.7km both leading to Splitters Creek. Great wide well maintained racks, good for bikes and prams with pump up tyres. Lush picnic area with tables, plenty of shady spots and toilets.
