Mini-Makers: Fabric Vessels at Childers Arts Space

Mini-Makers: Fabric Vessels at Childers Arts Space is a creative school holiday activity for children aged 6-12 years, giving young artists the chance to make their own fabric vessel using upcycled materials. Inspired by the artworks featured in Here + Now 2026, the session introduces children to tactile art and collage while encouraging creativity, design and hands-on making. During the workshop, children will use a range of upcycled materials to create and sculpt their own fabric vessel. The activity encourages children to work with different textures while developing their scissor skills, creative thinking and eye for design. Their finished piece can be used, displayed or given as a handmade gift.
The session is designed to be fun and practical, giving children plenty of opportunity to make something of their own while working with recycled materials. It is a great school holiday activity for kids who enjoy art, craft and creating things with their hands. Mini-Makers: Fabric Vessels will be held on Monday 21 September 2026 and Friday 2 October 2026, with both sessions running from 10am-11am. The activity takes place at Childers Arts Space, 72 Churchill Street, Childers.
Places are limited and booking is required. The workshop is free, making it an accessible September School Holiday activity in Bundaberg for local families.
