Mon Repos Junior Ranger Winter 2026 Program

For kids who love animals, the outdoors, and asking lots of questions about how nature works, the Mon Repos Junior Ranger Program is a great Winter School Holiday option in Bundaberg. This hands-on program gives children the chance to step into the world of conservation and learn more about the special environment at Mon Repos. It’s designed for children aged 9 to 12 years and offers a fun, practical way to learn about turtles, local wildlife, and what Rangers do to care for the conservation park.
The Mon Repos Junior Ranger Program invites children to join other Junior Rangers and explore the conservation park and its wild features. As part of the session, children will learn about turtles, nature and the role of Rangers, helping them better understand the important work that goes into protecting local environments.
There are two available session dates: Friday 3 July and Tuesday 7 July, both running from 9:30am to 11:30am. Families are asked to arrive 10 minutes early. The program is suitable for children aged 9–12 years, and the cost is $28.85. Bookings are essential, so families should secure a place ahead of time.
Nature-based programs like this are valuable because they give children the chance to learn outside a classroom and connect with the environment in a real, memorable way. Mon Repos is well known for its turtles and conservation work, so this program offers children a meaningful introduction to caring for wildlife and understanding why protected places matter.
For kids, becoming a Junior Ranger can also build confidence, curiosity and respect for the natural world. They get to ask questions, explore, observe, and see that conservation is something people actively do — not just something they read about. It’s a great way to encourage environmental awareness while giving kids an active and engaging school holiday experience.
