NAIDOC 2026 Pop-Up Playgroup in Bundaberg

NAIDOC Week is a special time for families to come together, celebrate First Nations culture, and recognise the strength, history and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This July, FNBGGGTB Connected Beginnings is hosting a NAIDOC Pop-Up Playgroup for the Bundaberg community at Lions Park, North Bundaberg. Local families, Elders and little ones are invited to gather for a friendly community day with play, connection, support services and cultural celebration at the heart of the event.
The Connected Beginnings NAIDOC Pop-Up Playgroup will be held on Thursday 9 July 2026, from 10am to 3pm, at Lions Park, Queen Street, Bundaberg North. The event is especially encouraging families with children aged 0–5 years to attend, while also welcoming local families and Elders.
Families can expect a free community BBQ, local support and services, Old MacDonald’s Farm, a Make My Bear Workshop, and a jumping castle and slide. The event is part of NAIDOC Week 2026, which marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week and runs from 5–12 July 2026.
The NAIDOC Pop-Up Playgroup also creates an opportunity for the wider community to celebrate First Nations culture in a family-friendly way. Bringing together Elders, children, services and community groups helps strengthen connection and belonging, while giving families a practical, free day out during the Winter School Holidays.
