You can achieve this in your business too. These are the steps we followed…….
1. Research your customers.
Use whatever means available to you to discover who your target audience is. What are their interests? How do they buy? Where do they live? Use Facebook Graph Search.
2. Write good content.
If you don’t write, pay someone to write for you. A good way to start is to blog about the most common questions you are asked about your business products or services. Share your own personal story or share why you started your business. Other content to try could be to produce free small online publications for download. Pdf documents, videos or slideshows. How to videos and blog posts are not only helpful to potential customers but are also great for your online search engine optimization. Use the results of your research above as a guide on what topics to write about.
3. Plan your content.
Use a template calendar and plan what content will be published when. We use a simple month to a page calendar and right topics against each day of the month. One new blog post a day or every few days is what you should be aiming for. Plan your social media posts the same way. Schedule your posts all at once a month in advance. Join our Business E-News for your free Content Planner to be released mid March.
4. Share your content.
Promote your blog posts, videos or slideshows via your social media, directing visitors to your website. Create ‘calls-to-action’ on your blog posts so visitors can opt in to join a mailing list, your Facebook group or purchase a related product/service. Write media releases and share your information with local media outlets. Ring your local journalists and tell them about your business and the content you are sharing.
5. Analyse your results.
Ensure you have Google Analytics installed on your website. View your web visits and page views. View your Facebook Insights data. What posts, videos or slideshows were popular? Continue to write more posts along these themes. Did your visitors join your email list? Have they since purchased from you? Research your customers further and implement any changes.
