Stained Glass Easter Craft

These stained glass Easter craft decorations look great blue-tacked to the window and even better hung in different heights in different sizes. The light should let in a rainbow of colour at certain times of the day. Our Wide Bay Kids had fun with this Easter School Holiday activity we thought you might like it too. This is a simple craft to make with your Wide Bay Kids that doesn’t require much preparation. What you need:

Cardboard
Scissors
Stanley knife
Hole punch
Colourful cellophane sheets
Glue
Cutting mat or chopping board

What you do:

Fold the cardboard over and cut out an Easter egg shape leaving the 2 eggs joined by a thin spine.
Keeping the egg shapes folded, use the Stanley knife and craft punch to create various shapes that will be coloured by the cellophane.
Cut the cellophane into various shapes and sizes to match your holes – strips, squares, circles.
Separate the two cardboard eggs and round off the edges.
Set one aside and cover the other with glue on one side.
Stick the cellophane over the egg shape. Don’t worry if the cellophane goes over the edge this can be fixed up later.
Glue the other cardboard egg shape to the cellophaned egg shape.
Press both sheets together and smooth over with your hand.
Trim around the outside of the egg.
