That Sugar Film
That Sugar Film
I am so excited that this film is coming to Bundaberg. I could not believe my eyes when I read that it was being played at the Moncrieff Theatre…….especially considering it is against Sugar, one of the life bloods of our Town!
I thought for sure that I would have to wait for it to be released onto DVD before I would ever have the opportunity to see it!
For those of you who follow me you will know that I’m interested in all things clean eating and getting back to basics. This film was made in order to start the conversation about the foods that people consume everyday and think are healthy.
I watched a program on ABC1 last year called The Men Who Made Us Fat. This was a great series, it went into how the food pyramid was established and likened those in the food industry to the tabacco industry! It was through this documentary that I was able to understand just how and why our food supply, and waistlines had changed so greatly over the last 30 years. You can view this series on the link above and I think if you like it you will be sure to also like That Sugar Film.
THAT SUGAR FILM aims to reveal the bitter truth about sugar. Damon Gameau the lead in the film undertakes an experiment to show the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body, consuming only foods that are commonly perceived as ‘healthy’. I’m told this will be an entertaining and informative journey, and that Damon will highlight some of the issues that plague the sugar industry and just where exactly sugar lurks on supermarket shelves.
From the reviews I’ve read they claim, THAT SUGAR FILM will forever change the way you think about ‘healthy’ food.
I’m not sure this will be true for me as I’m already on that page, but I’m hoping that this film will transform how everyone views ‘healthy’ foods in the supermarket. The hard part is getting everyone to watch it!
