Update on Football Parking and U16 Game

It looks like the Trial game tomorrow is going to be a wet one……..and due to the wet weather experienced over the past few days, regretfully the Under 16’s game at tomorrow’s NRL trial game event has been cancelled.

Whilst the event committee has taken considerable measures to ensure the grounds are free from water in time for tomorrows event, the cancellation of the first game was unavoidable, as the grounds will simply not survive two pre-games.  At this stage the main curtain raiser between the Bundaberg Representative side and the Capras will go ahead.

A drainage crew has been on site since yesterday morning, where an estimated 12,000 liters of water will be drained from the main field.

Arrangements are being made to accommodate ticket holders in exposed areas, especially the grass seating.  Those who are in these areas are asked to bring along a small tarp or towel to sit on.

The current conditions of the field are improving and we look forward to putting on a great event, in-spite of the recent deluge.

Parking Changes

There will be NO onsite parking available at Salter Oval.  Bundaberg Rugby League has engaged the assistance of local bus companies to do pick up and drop offs.

There will be three routes, beginning from 11am through to 12:30pm.

Return trips 9pm -10:30pm

Bus Routes

Route 1

First stop- Brothers Sports Club/Old Bunnings carpark

Second stop- Sugarland Shopping Centre

Third stop- Salter Oval

Route 2

First stop – Post Office Bus stop

Second stop- Salter Oval.

Route 3

First stop- Bundaberg East School

-This route will then travel along Que-Hee Street and down Walker Street until it reaches Takalvin Street.

Pick-ups will be made anywhere along this stretch.
