Maryborough Whodunit Murder Mystery Interactive Exhibit

Maryborough Whodunit Murder Mystery Interactive Exhibit
Our Wide Bay Kids absolutely loved the Maryborough Whodunit Murder Mystery Interactive Exhibit at the Town Hall in Maryborough. What an awesome time it was, we had so much fun!
After the exhibit we spend the rest of our day in Maryborough also having fun at the Aquatic Centre, Queens and Anzac Parks and the Wharf Street Precinct. You can read all about the fun we had in our Things to do in Maryborough with kids blog here.
Maryborough Whodunit Murder Mystery
We arrived at City Hall to be told that there had been an overnight break-in at the city zoo which had resulted in a dead zookeeper and a stolen rhino! We were each given files on the crimes and told that we would have to use our detective skills to solve them!
What we did
We then headed into the interactive exhibit and were greeted with the crime scene.
The kids jumped right into it and got to jotting down all the clues they could see. They were so excited and embraced the experience wholeheartedly. It was great to watch them and to listen in as they hypothised!
We then moved through each of the 20 or so exhibits jotting down the clues as we went.
Favourite exhibits
The kids favourites were learning about body temperatures
listening to the ransom call!
viewing the break in!
working out who’s footprints were at the crime scene!
finger printing and paper blotting!
All up we spent about 1 1/2 hours going through each of the exhibits and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. If you live in Bundaberg, Childers or Hervey Bay we think the drive to experience this exhibit is well worth it!
Who should go
Anyone with kids who can read and write. The exhibit is designed for children aged from 7 to 15 years but I can tell you there were plenty of adults enjoying themselves just as much as the kids, me included!
What to take
If I had my time again the only thing I would take is a clipboard for each of the kids. The crime scene files have pieces that keep wanting to fall out and there is not always room at each station to make notes…..a clip board would have made things easier.
