Better Menus for Sports Clubs Workshops
Better menus for Sports Clubs Workshops provide local sporting clubs with information on healthy eating options as well as how to improve canteen profitability.
The humble sports canteen has been the mainstay of many sporting organisations providing food for players and spectators and a welcome income stream for club revenue. Bundaberg Regional Council’s Sport & Recreation team has co-ordinated a two hour workshop to provide local sporting clubs with practical information on healthy eating options and improving canteen profitability.
A Council spokesperson said the “Better Menus Workshop: Tips for Sports Clubs”, which is an initiative of Bundaberg Regional Council and delivered by NAQ Nutrition, will be held at the Waves Sports Club on Tuesday March 22 from 6pm to 8pm.
“The workshop is targeted at local sporting groups and organisations that operate canteens and have an interest in providing a structured approach to their service delivery, promoting healthy options and maximising the financial viability of the canteen.”
The spokesperson said the workshop is free to attend being fully subsidised by Council to support the thriving local sport and recreation sector.
Workshop facilitator Amelia Webster of NAQ Nutrition said the workshop will share information to enable clubs to prepare better menus through design and product choice, creating less waste and strategies for creating and promoting healthy choice options”.
Registrations for the workshop, which close on March 18, can be made online HERE
