Local author Selena Silcox will guide participants through identifying their story ideas, helping them decide the best ways to articulate those ideas, and how to develop them into narratives.

This workshop will go more in-depth on story and structure helping you develop your ideas into narratives or projects that will resonate with your audience.

About the Creative:
Selena Silcox is thrilled to serve as a creative mentor for the Beyond Boundaries project. With a background in storytelling and publishing, Selena specializes in writing stories that highlight sapphic characters and advocate for equity, diversity, and equality.
Selena is passionate about creating inclusive and safe spaces where diverse voices within the LGBTIQ+ community can authentically express themselves through various forms of art. She is dedicated to fostering environments where participants feel valued, heard, and empowered to explore and share their identities.
Believing that every story is powerful and significant, Selena leverages her experience as an author and publisher to offer valuable insights into crafting compelling narratives. Her approach aims to reflect participants' personal experiences while engaging and inspiring broader audiences.
Through workshops and mentoring sessions, Selena guides participants in identifying and articulating their ideas, and developing them into impactful narratives or projects. Her goal is to celebrate queer stories, challenge stereotypes, and promote a more inclusive and empathetic community in Bundaberg.
Selena's ultimate aim is to inspire participants to embrace their identities and their community, viewing their stories as sources of creativity, strength, and connection.
