If you would like to attend some organised activities out of the home take a look at what workshops or events are on these school holidays in our What’s on Calendar.
Use these ideas to form your own plan:
- Play some outdoor ball games like soccer, footy, cricket, basketball, volleyball, tunnel ball, and tee ball. You don’t need all the equipment, just a few balls, sticks or chairs (for the goals or wickets), a length of rope (for the volleyball net – attach to the chairs) and a large bucket or bin (to use as your basketball hoop). Grab some friends and head to your favourite park and make a time of it. Host your own ball games tournament.
- Have the kids make up a concert, skit or play to perform for the family or you neighbours. Make invitations or tickets to the event as well as props from stuff you have at home.
- See what free entertainment is on at your local Shopping Centre. For Bundaberg and Fraser Coast residents see our What’s On Calendar for all the details.
- Play hop scotch or just drawn with chalk on cement around the house…….then have fun hosing it all off once done.
- Play the Wii, computer games or watch a DVD.
- Nature collage day – use leaves, tree bark, sand or soil to create a picture. The kids can collect all the bits and pieces in a bucket. Create an area outside for them to glue their nature collages together.
